My Story

My name is Skye. I call a tiny town in the Sierras my home and I'm a type one diabetic. I created High & Low to bring juvenile diabetes into adulthood. I love wearing gear that represents who I am but couldn't find anything I loved that represented the illness that influences so much of my life. Finding clothing brands for diabetics proved to be a challenge and the ones I did find appeared to be aimed at children. It's hopeful to see playful and colorful designs to make this burden a little more fun to manage, but not what I was looking for as a woman. As much fun as I have creating products for High & Low, we would all have much more fun leading healthy lives. A percentage of every purchase is donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to help fund finding a cure. My hope for High & Low is the kiddos that grew up with diabetes or those being diagnosed in adulthood may also find something to enjoy amidst the struggles. I built High & Low to remove the shame associated with diabetes and instead encourage speaking out, raising awareness, and showing pride for the extra effort we expend daily to stay alive – to live.
